Eligible Locations

Low and moderate income renters and homeowners who were impacted by qualifying disasters such as specified wildfire events from 2017 through 2020 or the 2023 and 2024 storms and floods, and who are purchasing an owner occupied home in one of the eligible California counties covered by the ReCover CA Homebuyer Assistance Program.

Full Description

The ReCover CA Homebuyer Assistance Program, administered by HCD through subrecipient (e.g., GSFA), offers forgivable, 0% interest second-mortgage loans up to $300K-$350K to eligible households that were impacted by qualifying disasters (wildfires or floods) in limited counties. Funds may be used for down payment, closing costs, and purchase gap. Applicants must meet income limits, first-time buyer status, and property-location criteria.
