The NSF SBIR/STTR and SBIR/STTR Fast-Track pilot programs aim to support the commercialization of scientific and technological innovations by funding startups and small businesses, thereby enhancing the national economy and workforce. Eligible applicants include small businesses that have received an invitation from an NSF Program Officer after submitting a Project Pitch, have a lineage of NSF research funding, and meet specific criteria regarding team composition and customer discovery training. To apply, businesses must first submit a Project Pitch through the NSF online form, and upon receiving an invitation, they can submit a proposal for funding.
