Rapid advances in genotyping and next generation sequencing technologies have led to the identification of genetic variants that are associated with a wide variety of congenital defects including human congenital anomalies (HCAs), intellectual developmental disabilities (IDDs) and inborn errors of metabolism (IEMs).
