The objective of this NOFO is to provide evidence for the optimal treatment of ADHD in adults, given its relatively recent acceptance as a formal diagnostic category. While stimulant drugs offer the advantages of rapid onset of action and history of efficacy, the risk of adverse effects, dependence, misuse, and diversion, along with recent medication shortages, underscore the importance of studying evidence-based complementary and alternative approaches when indicated.
