Full Description
Description
The National Institute on Aging (NIA) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to enable the development and expansion of a rigorously trained workforce in scientific disciplines related to the NIA mission by soliciting applications establishing new (Type 1) institutional predoctoral and/or postdoctoral training programs in high-priority areas of aging research. The grant will offset the cost of stipends, tuition and fees, and training related expenses, including health insurance, for the appointed trainees in accordance with the approved NIH support levels. This NOFO will not accept applications seeking to develop training programs focused on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias research or applications proposing training programs that are substantially similar to programs that have previously been funded at the applicant institution.
Applications are not being solicited at this time. Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. This NOFO will utilize the T32 activity code. Investigators with expertise and insights into training aging researchers are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this new NOFO.
