The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) is preparing to solicit applications for research on myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) aimed at forming collaborative teams to tackle pressing research issues. Eligible applicants include independent school districts, public and private higher education institutions, for-profit and small businesses, various government entities, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits. While applications are not currently being accepted, potential applicants are encouraged to start developing collaborations and projects in anticipation of the upcoming Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).

Description

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for research on myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) focused on the establishment of new collaborative teams to address emergent issues in ME/CFS research. Applications are not being solicited at this time. Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. This NOFO will utilize the P20 activity code. Investigators with expertise and insights into this area of science are encouraged to begin to consider applying for this new NOFO. In addition, collaborative investigations combining expertise in post-infectious chronic illnesses and ME/CFS will be encouraged, and these investigators should also begin considering applying for this application.
